Cassidy's new big girl bed

Nic spending the first night with his sister.

Cassidy finally transitioned to her "big girl" bed this week. The first night, she didn't want to sleep alone, so Nic volunteered to spend the night with her which made evrything fine. You can tell by the picture, we have a big purple bean bag at the side of the bed in case she tumbles out....so far so good, going on day 4. I thought the picture with Nic in her pink bed was pretty funny so I can show him when he gets older. Cassidy is so proud of her bed that she wants to bring everyone upstairs to show it off. I really thought the move from crib to bed was going to be the worst, but I guess miracles happen. Now, we are down to getting rid of pull ups and pacifiers...can't wait.
Cassidy and Nic have both been sick. Nic has been fine during the day but bad at night with a cough and fever. Cassidy had a bad ear infection last week, so she's on antibiotics but still waking up every hour at night. Between the both of them, we are exhausted to say the least.
Never a dull moment on this end....will keep you posted on the news.

Here it is the new addition to the family. Jack and I said we would never do it but there it is in our back yard.

Today was the first day the kids could try out the play set. Nic came running in from the bus wanting to go play....he was so excited. Thought it would be great to entertain them but it didn't take long before Cassidy's shrilling scream over took the neighborhood. The problem was Cass does not want to share any part of the set with Nic so she would just scream every time he would touch anything. I know we should all remember that she is Queen and we need to ask before we move.

Cassidy learning how to be like her Grandpa
>
>
It's been a long day, weathers been cold and rainy and Cass and I have been stuck in the house. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm looking forward to it.
Cassidy's new thing is to go in her room and lock the door and when I go in she tells me to leave because she needs privacy. I can already see what a handful we will have in another 10 years. Pray for us now...like I say our daughter is 2 going on 22.

I was just looking at some pictures that Jack downloaded from his phone and thought this one with the snow is so beautiful. I know we in the warmer states can look at this picture completly different then all you up in the North Pole. This was taken at the parents house in Wisconsin over Christmas. Thought I would share the beauty. I will look what other pictures I have and share them with you soon.

Nic's saying hi!
Cassidy looking fabulous.

Grandma cutting Cassidy's hair.

All these pictures came from my cell phone so they are not the best. Are you wondering why I would attach such a "special" picture of Cassidy? Well for some reason that day she took chap stick and rubbed it all over her face then thought to do her hair. At the time I had no idea what she was doing or what was all over her...the coconut smell gave it away. The picture doesnt really show how bad it was but I'm sure you can get the idea. The last picture is my mom cutting her hair which she does every time she sees Cassidy. Not sure why she's so good with my mom but if I pulled out the scissors she screams for her life.

That's it for today, until next time.

Ok, this is not the best picture but I only took a few while my mom was here. Not sure why that always happens...you get together with friends/family and you leave without pictures.
My mom came in from Florida to visit and to help eat some of my birthday cake for my very special day. Time went by fast, we spent most of it looking for Cassidy's bedroom set (which we didn't find) and the other half decorating what was still needed in the house. We did take one day and the two of us traveled up to the Blue Ridge Mountains to visit the Biltmore Mansion. It was great having that one-on-one time which never seems to happen. Can't wait until the next visitors...our door is always open!

Cassidy is getting ready to move out from her crib, we took off the side and just put a small rail. I thought she would be so excited but she kept saying, "No big girl bed". Well, she fell asleep and we will see how it works out. We bought the real bed today and it will be here tomorrow...let's just cross our fingers that this will be a smooth transition.
